The 10-day best of Uganda safari takes you to the top tourist destinations of Uganda. If you book it expect to visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Kibale National Park, Murchison Falls National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park among others.

Day 1: Entebbe Airport – Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

On arriving at Entebbe Airport, you will be welcomed by our professional safari guide/ driver – He will brief you shortly and then transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. En route visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to trek the white Rhinos. Proceed to the park en route and visit the top of the falls. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge, Murchison River Lodge, Budongo Eco Lodge, Chobe Safari Lodge, Lake Albert Safari Lodge, or Fort Murchison.

Day 2: Game drive in Murchison Falls National Park – afternoon boat cruise

This park is home to different wildlife species including 451 bird species and over 76 types of mammals including Buffaloes, Jackson hartebeests, Antelopes, Lions, Kobs, Giraffes, Hyenas, Bushbucks, and Warthogs among others. They are widely spread all over the Savannah grasslands, grazing or hunting for prey.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy a boat cruise to see water-loving mammals and birds. The channel leading to the bottom of the famous Murchison Falls got us through flocks of different animals; we saw hippos, crocodiles, elephants, warthogs, kobs, oribis, and countless species of birds.

Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge, Murchison River Lodge, Budongo Eco Lodge, Chobe Safari Lodge, Lake Albert Safari Lodge or Fort Murchison.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast transfer to Kibale National Park. It’s the top chimpanzee destination in Uganda with over 1500 chimps in Kibale Forest. Kibale National Park is a national park in western Uganda, protects moist evergreen rainforest. It is 766 square kilometers (296 sq mi) in size and range. Dinner and overnight at Primate Lodge Kibale, Chimpundu Lodge, Turaco Tree Top, or Mountains of the Moon Hotel.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking And Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, move to the park headquarters for briefing and thereafter, move into the jungles to meet troops of chimpanzees in Kibale Forest.  The trek is less strenuous compared to Mountain Gorilla trekking so you will spend less time on the trek.  After the trek – drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari lodge, Katara Lodge, Enganzi Lodge or Twin Lake Lodge.

Day 5: Morning game drive – afternoon boat cruise

A game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the fascinating activities in Uganda. QENP is the second largest National Park after Murchison Falls National Park. Expect to see lions, leopards, antelopes, bushbucks, warthogs, elephants, buffaloes, and so on. After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel to see water-loving birds and mammals.

Day 6: Transfer to Ishasha sector – Tree climbing lion tour

After a cup of tea, drive to the Ishasha sector to search for the tree-climbing lions. Hire a ranger to assist you detect where the tree-climbing lions are. It is supposed that this type of lion climbs trees as a way of protecting themselves against the numerous biting tsetse flies on the ground level, whereas other people claim that they climb into the branches to escape from the heat on the ground and enjoy the cool breeze; nonetheless, the reason why they climb up into the tree branches remains unknown.

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, drive to the home of Mountain Gorillas (BINP). Bwindi Impenetrable National Park lies in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley.

Its mist-covered hillsides are blanketed by one of Uganda’s oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests, which dates back over 25,000 years and contains almost 400 species of plants. More famously, this “impenetrable forest” also protects an estimated 459 mountain gorillas – roughly half of the world’s population, including several habituated groups, which can be tracked. Dinner and overnight at Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge, Chameleon Hill Lodge, Rushaga Gorilla Camp or Gorilla Valley Lodge.

Day 8: Gorilla trekking – afternoon Batwa cultural tour

Transfer to the park headquarters and join a party of up to 8 tourists for briefing and thereafter, walk into the Bwindi Forest to look for mountain Gorillas in their natural habitats. The Ranger guide will be in a position to answer all your questions throughout the trek to make it informative, enjoyable, and above all memorable. A maximum of one hour is given to enjoy the view, take photos, and chat with Gorillas.  After the gorilla trek, take a local community tour (visit the Batwa).

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Breakfast and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is a magical stunning lake found in Uganda and its unknown too many tourists since it’s located away with in the gorilla highlands. Visit Lake Bunyonyi Uganda and tour its 29 islands. Lake Bunyonyi is one of the deepest lakes in Africa and is located in Kabale District.

Dinner and overnight at Birds nest @ Lake Bunyonyi or Arcadia Cottages.

Day 10: Return to Entebbe Airport – Evening departure

After breakfast, drive back to Entebbe – en route stopover at the Uganda Equator for photos and experiments. Proceed to Entebbe Airport for evening departure.
