Explore Uganda and Rwanda tour starts from Entebbe International Airport in Uganda and ends at Kigali International Airport in Rwanda.
Day 1: Entebbe Airport – Be welcomed by our professional safari guide/ driver – transfer to Kampala
Upon arriving at Entebbe Airport, you will be welcomed by our professional safari guide/ driver – transfer to Kampala for dinner and overnight at Cassia Lodge, Kampala Forest cottages, and Kampala serena Hotel.
Day 2: Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park (the largest park in Uganda)
After breakfast, you will transfer to Murchison Falls National Park – en route visit the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to trek white Rhinos. Thereafter, proceed to the park, visit the top of the falls for scenic views and memorable photos. Dinner and overnight at Murchison River Lodge, Paraa safari Lodge, Redhill Rest Camp.
Day 3: Game drive to see a variety of wild animals – afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls.
After breakfast, enjoy the game drive to see a variety of attractions like birds, water bodies, unique vegetation. Animals like elephants, Giraffes, lions, antelopes, leopards, buffaloes, elephants and many more. Return to your respective accommodation for lunch and then enjoy afternoon boat cruise to see birds and water mammals like Hippos, crocodiles etc. Dinner and overnight at the previous accommodation.
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park (Home of chimpanzees)
After breakfast, transfer to Kibale National Park- lunch en route and proceed to the park for dinner and overnight at Turaco Tree top, Primate Lodge Kibale, Chimpundu Lodge or Crystal safari Lodge.
Day 5: Chimpanzee Habituation in Kibale National Park
After breakfast, move to the park headquarters for briefing and thereafter, join groups to meet chimpanzees in their natural habitat. Chimpanzee habituation is led by researchers and expert ranger guides who are conversant with primate habituation. Chimpanzee habituation will enable you see chimpanzees for more hours compared to normal chimp trek. You will return to your accommodation for lunch, relax as you wait for dinner and overnight at the previous accommodation.
Day 6: Toro Cultural excursion – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After breakfast, drive to Toro palace for cultural excursions and thereafter, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. It’s the second largest park in Uganda after Murchison Falls National Park. Expect to see some animals on the way to Enganzi Lodge, Katara Lodge, Mweya Safari Lodge or Twin Lake Lodge.
Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge of Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast move to the park headquarters for briefing about the Dos and Don’t while trekking chimpanzees. Move into Kyambura gorge to see a variety of chimpanzees together with other privates like red tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys and olive baboons. Return to your accommodation for lunch, relax as you wait for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Morning game drive – afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel
After breakfast, drive into the park to see a variety of attractions; birds, relief features, drainage features, animals and so on. Return for lunch and then go for afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel to see water loving birds and mammals like Hippos, crocodiles and so on.
Day 9: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – en route search for the tree climbing lions.
You will transfer to Ishasha sector, get a ranger guide to search for the tree climbing lions in their natural habitat. Meeting them is so exciting and expect to take memorable photos/ films. Proceed with the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for dinner and overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Camp, Ruhija Gorilla Lodge, Bakiga Lodge, Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge.
Day 10: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest – afternoon cultural visit to the Batwa Pygmies for lots of local music, dance, drama and cultural exhibitions.
After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters and join a party of up to 8 tourists for briefing and thereafter, walk into the Bwindi Forest to look for mountain Gorillas in their natural habitats. The Ranger guide will be in position to answer all your questions throughout the trek to make it informative, enjoyable and above all memorable. A maximum of one hour is given to enjoy the view, take photos and chat with Gorillas. After the gorilla trek, take a local community tour (visit the Batwa). Dinner and overnight at your previous accommodation.
Day 11: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi – enjoy boat cruise to see a variety of birds.
After breakfast, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for birding. Enjoy the boat cruise to visit different islands to see a variety of birds on Lake Bunyonyi. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Arcadia Lodge Lake Bunyonyi or Bird Nest @ Bunyonyi.
Day 12: Cross to Rwanda – Visit the twin lake; Burera and Ruhondo
After breakfast, drive to Rwanda via Kyanika border – en route visit the twin, Lake; Burera and Ruhondo. Dinner and overnight at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge, Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel, Bisate Lodge, Virunga Lodge or Muhabura Hotel.
Day 13: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, go for gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. The time taken while searching for the amazing gorillas is unpredictable but ranges between 3-6hrs. On meeting gorillas, you will be given 1hr to see, take photos and thereafter, return to your accommodation for lunch. Spend an evening at the Gorilla Guardian Village where you will learn about Rwandan culture from the locals. Dinner and overnight at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge, Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel, Bisate Lodge, Virunga Lodge or Muhabura Hotel.
Day 14: Golden Monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, go golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park. Its less strenuous compared to Gorilla trekking. Meet golden monkeys in their natural habitat, take photos, films and return to your respective accommodation for lunch, relax as you wait for dinner and overnight at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge, Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel, Bisate Lodge, Virunga Lodge or Muhabura Hotel.
Day 15: Dian Fossey tomb tour – Drive to Nyungwe National Park.
Breakfast followed by the move to the park headquarters for briefing and thereafter, move to visit the Dian Fossey tomb. Learn more about the Dian Fossey “the great lover of the mountain Gorillas” Return for lunch and transfer to Nyungwe National Park. Dinner and overnight at Emeraude Kivu Resort, Nyungwe Top View Hotel or Gisakura Guest House.
Day 16: Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe National Park.
After breakfast, have briefing and move to encounter chimpanzees in Nyugwe National Park. Also expect to see other attractions like Colobus Monkeys, water bodies, birds, valleys and hills among others.
Day 17: Kigali City – Departure
After breakfast, return to Kigali, brief city tour; visit Gisozi Genocide memorial Museum, lunch and thereafter, transfer to Kigali Airport – departure flight.
