It’s a short tour but enables you to visit the two Ugandan gorilla parks; Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Both parks are situated in far southwestern Uganda and can be reached after 7-9hrs drive to Entebbe Airport/ Kampala city.
Day 1: Entebbe Airport – Fly to Kisoro Airport
You will board a plane from Entebbe Airport to Kisoro Airstrip where you will meet our safari guide/ driver. He will brief you and then transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Dinner and overnight at Mount Gahinga Lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Breakfast will be followed by the transfer to the park headquarters for briefing and thereafter, a walk in the forest to look for the Nyakagezi Gorilla Family. It’s the only habituated gorilla family in MGNP and the only officially trekked gorilla group. While in Mgahinga, you will have a comparative advantage because game rangers easily detect where the Nyakagezi group is based on its previous location.
The Gorilla trek in Mgahinga takes between 3-5hrs and on returning to your accommodation, you will have lunch and then drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for dinner and overnight at Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge, Chameleon Hill Lodge or Lake Mutanda Resort.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
While in Bwindi Forest, you have open chances of meeting at least a gorilla group. Nkuringo sector, Ruhija sector and Rushaga sector- protect over five gorilla families ready for trekking. Just like in MGNP, gorilla trekking in BNP starts with a briefing, joining groups, and moving to search for the gentle giant.
Day 4: Return to Kisoro Airstrip – Fly to Entebbe Airport
Leave BINP with great memories and fly to EBB from the Kisoro Airstrip
